Four kings and five other were fighting in the land of Canaan. This conflict, turmoil and war characterized the time and area where Abraham dwelled.
Jesus told us that natural disasters and wars and people seeking power are all inevitable things in this broken world, and that we should not be troubled by them as Christians. Our primary purpose, like Abraham’s, is the kingdom of God in the midst of a human history led by sinful men.
