The Attributes of Elohim: Self-Sufficiency

May 22, 2016 Speaker: Chris Greer Series: Foundations: Study Through Genesis

Topic: Sermons Passage: Genesis 1:1, Psalm 50:1–23

God is all sufficient and the source of all things.

We need him, and he rebuked his people in Psalm 50 for their self-sufficiency and lack of reliance upon God just as Jesus does in saying "I am the vine, and you are the branches... Apart from me you can do nothing." (Jn 15:5) and to the Laodiceans (Rev 3:17) who thought they were rich apart from Christ.

We would do well to remember our need for the self-sufficient one, the LORD, YAHWEH.

Has your prayer life dwindled? If so, your dependency on the vine has dwindled as well.
