Anticipating Man

May 13, 2018 Speaker: Chris Greer Series: Foundations: Study Through Genesis

Topic: Sermons Passage: Genesis 2:4–6

Genesis 2:4 contains one of about 10 toledots in the book of Genesis. The toledot is a marker, heading, or divider between sections in Genesis, and this one in 2:4 concludes the overall creation account to focus on the creation of man.

Before the fall, man would cultivate the ground and God would water in perfect harmony to bring about flourishing of the earth.

Mist rising from the earth confirms that other plants on the earth needed water. God specifically chose for certain plants to not sprout in order to endow man with ownership and responsibility to work!

Moms should adopt this perspective every day for your “garden” or realm of responsibility with these children and home, and all believers should remember this with regards to evanglism and the work of ministry; God has chosen to use us, his children, to accomplish his will in this world.
