As believers we are a holy nation to the Lord. To be holy is to be set apart, separate, for God’s worship and service, and this is not only true for objects in Old Covenant Temple worship but also for us as Christians in the New Covenant.
Holy-set apart/separate for God’s use.
A holy person is one who has had a decisive break with sin (1 Pet 1:14-16).
-Set Apart From; the world, sin
-Set Apart For: worship of and service of God
Holiness is tied to love (1 Thes 3:11-13) for people, selflessly serving others in the way God has prescribed in His word, according to his standard of love.
