Isaiah 7:14 is a significant prophesy that Matthew is quoting, and the fact that Mary was a virgin when she conceived by the Holy Spirit is a necessity to be a fulfillment of the scriptures.
The Messiah must be seed of the woman (Gen 3:15) & “mighty God” (Isa 9:6), cannot be fallen in 1st Adam (Rom 5), and cannot be created directly from dust.
His name shall be called Immanuel because He is God with us. This is Christianity-that we know God and Jesus whom he sent into the world-God with us and us with God.
