Conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel, literally is "to citizen", the verb. Paul is exhorting the Philippians to act like the citizens they are, members of the Kingdom of Heaven.
Citizens posses 4 things:
1. Identity - Unique identifying characteristics held by no other category.
2. Solidarity - I am in this with other people, we are together.
3. Priviledge - I have rights.
4. Obligation - I have duties and commitments to which I am morally and legally bound.
