Psalm 139: David’s Omniscient, Omnipresent Creator

David reflecting on the all seeing, all knowing God, transcendent and personal God from the moment of his conception and in all places is ever present, guiding and helping him through every circumstance. The awe of this reality brings him to a sense of awe and worship of this powerful creator, protector, and guide.

-God’s Omniscience v1-6. Absolute knowledge of everything that has, does or will happen; guiding David (Rom 8:28); moves David to worship
-God’s Omnipresence v7-12. God is actually present everywhere all at once; knows he is never nowhere alone for God is always everywhere with him
-God as David’s Creator v13-16. Image of God: rule, moral, spiritual, empirically, artistic, relational, emotional, mentally, organizationally, vocationally, linguistically; Gen 9:6 death penalty for murder because man is in the image of God; humans are unique & precious, eternal soul & body
-David’s Zeal & Prayer for righteousness v17-24.
