Pixels of Love 4: Be Humble in Spirit

December 4, 2022 Speaker: Chris Greer Series: 1 Peter: Following Jesus as Exiles

Topic: Sermons Passage: 1 Peter 3:8–9, Matthew 11:25–30, Philippians 2:3–8, Romans 12:16, 1 Peter 5:5–7

Be humble in spirit / lowly in mind means not seeking attention for yourself, thinking of yourself less (not thinking less of yourself), regarding others as more important than yourself, becoming a servant and pouring yourself out for others in love

Jesus was humble without sin. True humility is knowing who you really are in the sight of God, not thinking too lowly nor too highly of yourself. Confidence is not in conflict with humility, but humility actually grounds your confidence in truth.

How much do you care about the well-being and exaltation of others?

Are you willing to be in the background and a servant for the benefit of others?

Are you associating with the lowly, the outcasts of society, the less honorable members of the body?
