To Whom (Part 2), How Much and How Often Should We Give?

August 14, 2022 Speaker: Ben Hannon Series: Giving

Topic: Sermons Passage: Hebrews 13:15–16, Galatians 6:6–10, Acts 2:42–47, 1 Timothy 5:3–16, 2 Corinthians 8:10–15, 2 Corinthians 9:6–12, Deuteronomy 15:7–11, 1 Corinthians 16:2

-Who should we be giving to?

1. Missionaries
2. Elders
3. Christians (first) & Unbelievers in the world (second) - We should meet needs of Christians first, unbelievers second-there is a priority in giving to brothers and sisters in Christ, and we also give to the world (Gal 6:6-10; Acts 2:43-46).
4. Family members in need - We should meet all the needs of our family and support family members in need (1 Tim 5:3) to keep the church from becoming burdened.
-How much should we give?

Jesus and his apostles who wrote the New Testament do not prescribe a certain amount to be given. How much you give should be determined by your ability and willingness to meet needs that overflows from a heart of love as a life full of worship and gratitude to God for his gospel of grace.

-How often should we give?

Regularly and Occasionaly - we see examples of both in the scriptures
