Salvation is not limited to justification alone, but includes sanctification and glorification also, outlined thoroughly in Romans chapters 3-8. Baptism is a beautiful picture of our union with Christ by full immersion into His death and resurrection life. We are to consider ourselves dead to sin and alive to God, walking in newness of life and no longer in sin.
