The first record of what Abram says back to God starts with “Adonai”-Lord and Master, my Sovereign. He recognizes the authority of God and the fears Him rightly. Do you fear the LORD?

When Jesus teaches his disciples to pray, he tells us to start with “Our Father in heaven...”, very similar to this address of God as Yahweh Adonai.
