Psalm 110 is a declaration from God to and about His Son, and it is full of poetry and glory because it comes from His heart. Jesus is a mighty king ruling and reigning at the right hand of Yahweh, and the whole Gospel includes this aspect of the wrath and judgement of God, and that is precisely what his substitutionary atonement rescues us from.
