Heading to Cameroon: An Update from the Huntleys

“For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them...." Romans 12:4-6

Dear family and friends,

We’re on our way to Cameroon soon!

We plan to fly to Cameroon on May 31. Lois’s passport arrived in the mail, so now we are working on visa applications for Cameroon. We are looking forward to seeing exactly what God has for us once we arrive in Yaoundé on June 1! We can’t wait to reconnect with our Bible translation colleagues, including those who—like us—normally work in the Central African Republic but are currently living in Cameroon due to the unrest in CAR.

Please pray with us:

We thank God for His goodness to us during this home assignment period in the United States. Now we are on the move again until we get to Africa. It seems that there is usually an increase in spiritual warfare and in various stresses when we are in these “transitional periods” of life. So, in the days ahead, we would especially appreciate your prayers when God brings us to your mind.

For the people of the Central African Republic—Please continue to pray with us for CAR, where the unrest continues. We long to be back working with the Gbaya translation project and living life with our Central African friends, and our hearts are burdened for them as they continue in this difficult time.

For our physical and spiritual health—Please pray for our relationships with the Lord and each other to be healthy as we are on the move. Please also pray for the five of us to be physically strong and well.

Financial update:

We presently have 100% of the ongoing monthly support Wycliffe requires for our location in Cameroon, which means they have released us to return overseas! Thank you so much for being part of our lives and ministry through your generosity.

[As of mid-April, the Huntleys still needed to raise 83% of their one-time costs by the beginning of May (see the graphic below for more details on the breakdown of costs).]

Some of you have asked how you can help with our one-time costs for returning to Africa.

To contribute to our one-time costs, you can mail a check payable to “Wycliffe Bible Translators” to: Wycliffe Bible Translators, PO Box 628200, Orlando, FL 32862-8200 (Include a separate note: “Preference for the Wycliffe ministry of Adam & Ruth Huntley, Ministry Account #218711”)

Or you can give online: http://tinyurl.com/huntleygiving

Thank you for joining us as we partner with believers in Cameroon and the Central African Republic to see God’s Word translated into the languages of people’s hearts!
Love,
Adam, Ruth, John, Samuel and Lois Huntley

Just for fun, here’s an “on the road” photo. Lois sits on my lap watching Adam clean the minivan windshield at a gas station somewhere between Texas and Minnesota:
